Willow Burn goes "Bollywood"

Willow Burn Hospice added some spice to its fundraising with a Bollywood style evening at a local north east Indian restaurant. Willow Burn Hospice, near Lanchester, Durham, raised £1,200 during the evening at The Spice Venue, Consett, Durham,  the second such event to be held in the restaurant.

The evening started with a belly dance provided by ‘Book a Belly’. The dancer performed a set of emotional, dynamic and vibrant dances to entertain guests and some audience participation helped to make for an enjoyable evening! Dressed in traditional clothing, the waiting staff served up a delicious three-course Indian Feast.

Helen Mills, Willow Burn Chief Executive, said: “It was fabulous evening in which our warmest supporters of Willow Burn enjoyed a feast of wonderful Indian cuisine.  I’d like to thank the Spice Venue for their continued support in the community and for making the Willow Burn fundraising evening very special.  Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the Willow Burn fundraising event raised over £1,200.

More restaurant fundraising events in aid of Willow Burn are planned throughout the year in various venues across Derwentside.
