Catchgate Village Unites for Willow Burn
Catchgate villagers joined forces with the local businesses to carry out a years worth of fundraising activities in a bid to support Willow Burn. The fundraising commenced with the Smiths Arms and then the baton was handed to the Catchgate Excelsior Club to continue to fundraising.
The whole community got involved and the activities ranged from fancy dress pub crawls, raffles, charity shows, karaoke competitions with even the George Hall Memorial Trophy darts match funds coming to Willow Burn.
Stephen Gailes of the Catchgate Excelsior Club was a key player for all the fundraising helping to coordinate the activities and providing the club as a central venue. Their ongoing commitment to Willow Burn had a positive effect on the village, bringing the community together to support a very worthy cause and their joint efforts raised £2,505.00 for Willow Burn.
