Walking For Willow Burn Hospice

It was the inevitable grey skies that met walkers at the start of Willow Burn Hospice’s Annual August Bank Holiday Walk, but it was sunny faces all round from getting out and about in the fresh morning air and being involved with this popular fundraising event.  Forty walkers and additional volunteer staff met at the Kings Head in Lanchester, to sample the delights of beautiful Browney Valley during a four or six mile walk on last Bank Holiday Monday.  The ever-changing terrain offered an interesting mix of valley floor, river-side, and hill-top outlooks which proved enjoyable to novices and seasoned walkers alike.

Many thanks to everyone who attended, especially to our trusty volunteers, the Kings Head for providing a lovely buffet on return, and to the seven members of the Spraggon family aged from eight to ‘young thirties’ who ‘got out there’ in memory of Nana Pat -  we’re sure she would have been so proud of you all!
