Lambton Run 2012

Despite appalling weather conditions, rain did not deter new and seasoned participants to this year's Lambton Run.  With special permission from the Earl of Durham the event was held on the Lambton Estate for the second time. The event attracted beginners and experienced runners who took part in either 3k Family Fun Run or the 10k event.

Sunderland Harrier Brian Rushworth was first over the finishing line in the 10k run, with a time of 36.02mins.  Michelle Hunt again of the Sunderland Harriers was the first female to finish in 40.21mins, both runners received £100 'The Sweat Shop' gift vouchers for running shoes.

Sponsorship was received from the Sir Tom Cowie Charitable Trust for the second year and further sponsorship was attracted from Cestria Community Housing this year.  Proceeds from the event are to be split equally between the Sunderland Foundation of Light and Willow Burn Hospice.
