Willow Burn Hospice St Patrick's Night
Willow Burn Hospice celebrates St Patricks Night in style!
Willow Burn Hospice hosted a St Patricks Night event at St Patricks Hall in Consett on Saturday 17th March. Ticket holders were treated to an array of entertainment including a Piper, Irish Clog Dancers and the famous Willow Burn Corgis who played at Willow Burn Hospices equally successful Royal Wedding Event last year. Guests tucked into a sumptuous Irish Stew and were kept entertained by completing an Irish themed quiz. Some guests even came dressed appropriately for the occasion (see photograph!). Through ticket sales, a raffle and merchandise sales the event raised a fantastic £750.00. Helen Mills, Willow Burn Hospice Chief Executive said ‘events like this ensure that we are able to keep our profile high within our local community and provide fun opportunities to raise much needed funds for our very worthy cause. All sums raised on Saturday night will go straight back into delivering palliative and end of life care services for our patients and their families from across Derwentside and Co Durham. We are delighted that the event went so well and hope to run a similar event next year. I would like to make special mention of the staff and volunteers who helped to organise the event and the Irish Clog Dancers from the Walker School of Dance who brought with them a wonderful violinist from the Fox Suzuki Violin School, both of Durham. We really appreciate their support and for keeping our guests entertained’.
