Willow Burn Hospice launches new range of products

WILLOW BURN Hospice in County Durham is today launching a new range of products for sale from its high street and online shops.

The range, which comes in the hospice’s distinctive Summer green branding, includes clothing, mugs and notebooks, and is available from less than £1. It includes hooded sweatshirts, t-shirts, notebooks and notelets, coasters, mugs, pens and fridge magnets and bookmarks, and can be purchased from Willow Burn Hospice’s high-street shops at Front Street, Stanley and at Trafalgar Street in Consett. They are also available online at http://www.willow-burn.co.uk/shop/home/. Willow Burn Hospice also has a second online store at http://donations.ebay.co.uk/charity/charity.jsp?NP_ID=23223 which sells a range of good-quality second-hand items which have been donated to help raise money.

Claire Ross who leads on merchandising at Willow Burn Hospice, said: “We know Willow Burn Hospice touches and is touched by all ages, with many people knowing someone, or knowing of someone, who has come to Willow Burn for nursing care, or for comfort and compassion.

“We already have our high street and online shops at www.ebay.co.uk and at our own website, through which we sell good quality donated items, but wanted to create a range of new products that would be suitable for gifts and trinkets.

“The range we have the kind of things that don’t cost very much but mean a lot when received, and when the money they are purchased with is used to allow Willow Burn Hospice to continue to provide care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their families and carers.”

The hooded sweatshirts and t-shirts are available in a range of sizes and colours, and are ideal for the unpredictable British weather!

Helen Mills, Chief Executive of Willow Burn Hospice added: “We’ve been working on some very exciting developments as we work to raise our profile and people’s awareness of what we do so it’s great to see this range going to the market. The current economic climate is difficult for everyone, and as a charity

We are acutely aware of how important every penny and pound can be. We are aware that being a charity means we are expected to ask people for support or money but we wanted to add to the ways we give something back to the communities we are generously supported by through the North West Durham area.

“Willow Burn Hospice receives comparatively little government funding so to allow us to provide the care and services we do so sales from this new range are as important as the donations and support we receive. Without the generosity of others and fundraising activities, we couldn’t continue to treasure the lives of everyone who we helpand wouldn’t be able to provide the care and palliative support services we do.”
